Our contemporary Penelope Twin XL over Queen Captains Bunk Bed is a must have for small spaces or guest rooms, as it can sleep up to four with room for storage. It features classic styling made from solid wood and veneers in a dark cappuccino finish. This bunk bed can be reconfigured and used as two separate beds, a twin extra large and a queen size bed.  The under-bed unit includes a twin trundle bed with three storage drawers underneath.  All of our bunk beds meet or exceed ASTM and CPSC safety standards.

The Penelope bunk bed ships via LTL Freight Carrier and takes longer to ship than most of our other beds.  Please allow five to seven business days for order processing and two weeks for shipping.

    • Hello, is this bed available in any other colors? And if yes, how long would it take to ship? Also, do you have a version of the same bed (twin over queen with trundle) but with Twin instead of Twin XL?

      Hi Reem.  Our Penelope bunk bed also comes in an oak color.  This bunk bed ships via LTL freight carrier and can take 6-8 weeks for shipping.  It's only available with a twin bunk bed on top.  Our Audrey bunk bed  and Bentley bunk bed are two other good options in different colors that ship much quicker via FedEx ground.  Let us know if we can answer any other question!

    • Hello: Can 2 average size adults sleep on queen down below? Obviously I am assuming 150lb capacity for top bunk?

      Hi there.  Yes our Penelope bunk bed will support the weight of two adults on the bottom queen bed.  Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    • What is the weight capacity of both the upper and lower bunk

      Hello.  Bunk beds aren't rated for specific static weights, but our Penelope bunk bed has been safety tested to support a minimum of 400 pounds of rolling weight per bed.  Please let us know if we can answer any other questions!

    • Does this come with the underbed unit? How high of a mattress can be accomodated for each bed?

      Hello.  Yes this comes with the under bed unit.  Mattresses that are 5 or 6 inches thick are best for the trundle bed and the top bunk bed. Any thickness of mattress will work for the queen bed.  Please let us know if we can answer any other questions!

    • Can the ladder attach to either side of the bed?
