Introducing our versatile Luca Montessori Floor Bed with Rails, crafted to evolve seamlessly from toddlerhood to the teenage years and beyond, providing a comfortable transition from crib to a big kid bed. Its low ground height and protective sides ensure a secure environment, preventing any accidental rolls. As your child grows, the bed adapts effortlessly – remove the front and back rails and add the feet to continue the transitional journey.

Our Luca Montessori floor bed with rails comes with bed slats and 4-inch legs to supports at least 400 pounds. Plus the no VOC and water-based natural finish is safe for your little one. The bed can be assembled without the legs to sit directly on the floor. The bed just needs a standard toddler-size, twin-size, or full-size mattress.
Made of high-quality pine wood, the bed is durable and can keep serving your kids as they grow. The bed has pre-drilled holes which are standard features of our beds, so the bed is easy to assemble without taking too much time. The front and back guard rails (the long sides) can be removed when no longer needed, leaving just a headboard and footboard to convert into a regular bed. You can also remove only the front rail with the opening, to convert the bed into a daybed.

Our Luca floor bed is built with rails spaced less than 2 3/8 inches apart to be as safe as possible. This bed meets all applicable safety guidelines, and is independently inspected for quality control.
Please note that this floor bed is not recommended for children under 12 months old due to mattress material and firmness. Crib mattresses are specifically designed to provide extra firmness for the safety of babies during sleep. Always adhere to safe sleep practices for your little ones, and discuss sleep decisions with your pediatrician who knows your child's individual needs.
Once in stock, orders will be processed in one to two business days and shipped for free in the contiguous U.S. via Fedex ground, which takes three to five business days.

What height twin mattress works best with the Luca bed?

I read in a previous asked question and answer that you were planing on releasing conversion kits that would allow the Luca Montessori floor bed to turn into a bunk bed or loft bed. Is this still true?

Hi! What is the maximum thickness of mattress you should get for a full size Luca bed?
Hi Emily. There's about 17 inches of guard rail height, so a mattress up to 12 inches thick will work. A thinner mattress would be better to leave more guard rail exposed. We're happy to answer any other questions you have!

How does this bed differ from the one from simplysori?

Hello - regarding removable rails. When referring to the “front” rail as removable and the “sides” as fixed, is one of the longer ends considered the front and the top and common consider the sides?

The edges of the Luca bed are all 90 degree sharp angles. I read somewhere that they are now rounded? Will you be updating the pictures so the shopper sees what they are buying? Also, can both side rails be removed to transition to a real bed with just the head and foot rails?

Does this bed come with the option for a gate to close off the opening?

What thickness of mattress do you recommend for the twin? What is the thickness of the mattress in the advertised photo with green sheets?

Hello. I was wondering if you can request to have the edges on the Luca bed softened? I saw some pictures showed the edges to be straight and pointed, and others had it sanded/softened for the guard rails. Would I be able to request the head/footboard edge to be softened, as well as the side guard rail edge? Thank you.
