QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
Are you able to flip the access to the top bunk from your picture to the right side, then have the middle bunk on the left side, and still have it facing out?
Hi JoAnne. Thanks for contacting us about our popular Sydney triple bunk. Yes the top bunk bed can be assembled in the opposite direction. The main bunk bed and the middle bunk would all be flipped. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions!
Does this have to go into a corner?
Hi JoAnne. Thanks for contacting us about our adorable Syndey triple bunk bed. It does not have to go in the corner of the room. It would work well against a wall as well. Please let us know what other questions we can answer!
How wide is each bunk bed
Hello! Each bunk bed is approximately 40 inches wide and fits a standard twin size mattress. We're here to help if you have any other questions!
When assembling, is it possible to switch the middle bunk to the left side instead of the right?
Hello. Yes the middle bunk can be assembled on either side of the bed. Please
let us know if we can answer any other questions!
Is it home delivery?
Hello. Yes our Sydney triple bunk bed ships via FedEx home delivery and they will bring the boxes to your front door. Please let us now how else we can assist you!
What is the height off the floor of the middle bunk? I'd like to put the bed against a window, but I'm curious how much of the window that middle bed might cover. Thank you!
Hello! The middle bunk bed is approximately 40 inches from the floor. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Is is an option to build a ladder for the middle bunk that is completely vertical (rather than sloped like in the photos)? Also, I see in some photos the ladder is now there. Does anyone choose to not build the ladder, and if so, how does their kid get into that middle bunk?
Hello. Unfortunately we cannot make any changes to our manufacturered bunk beds, because they're safety tested as is and so the ladder cannot be modified. The ladder is removable, so you can take it off when it's not needed but kids will need the ladder to access the middle bunk bed! Let us know if we can assist you further.
What would the weight limit be (for each bunk)?
Each bed is safety tested to support 400 pounds of rolling weight. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions!
We just ordered these for our almost 4 year olds. What mattress thickness would you suggest?
Hi there. Six inch thick mattresses are best for the bunk bed, so that as much guard rail as possible is exposed. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
How much space is there between each bed?
There is 25 inches from the bottom bunk bed to the second bunk. There's about 20 inches between the second and third bunks. Let us know if you have any other questions!
Hello, What is the height of the guard rail?
Hello. The height of the guard rail is approximately 15 inches. Let us know if you have any other questions.
We purchased based this a few years ago, and love it! question - the older one has his own room now, an we take out the middle bunk for room space and still have ti structurally sound? thanks
Hi Brittany! We're so glad to hear that you love the bed. Unfortunately our Sydney bunk bed is safety tested as a three bed bunk, and changing the design/assembly in any way voids the safety testing. We couldn't guarantee that the bunk bed will still be safe and sturdy if the middle bunk is removed. Please let us know if we can help you with anything else 😊.
I see that the bed has slats and does not need a box spring, but could you use a bunky board if you wanted to (1.5 to 2 inches thick) with a 6 inch mattress?
Hi Laura. Yes it would be okay to use the bunky board with a 6 inch thick mattress. You want to keep as much guard rail exposed as you can, so you wouldn't want to use mattresses any thicker than 6 inches. Let us know if we can help with anything else!
Hello. Is this bed ever available in gray? I’d love this style but the white color won’t work for the room it would go in.
Hi Lisa. Right now we do not have plans to sell our Sydney bunk bed in any color other than white. It can be painted, like you would paint any other finished furniture. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
